Protecting your data matters to us. This statement applies under the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

What data we process

Enquiries by form, email or WhatsApp. When you contact us, we process the details you provide: name, email, phone number, travel dates, number of guests, extras and your message. We use them only to answer your enquiry and organise your stay.

The enquiry form is sent via Netlify Forms (Netlify, Inc., USA) and stored there until we have dealt with your enquiry. If you choose “Send via WhatsApp”, WhatsApp opens with your message.

WhatsApp. If you contact us via WhatsApp, WhatsApp's privacy policy (Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd.) also applies.

Your stay. For booked stays, Croatian law requires us to register our guests in the eVisitor system. For this we process the required details from your ID document.

Visiting the website. When you visit the website, the server stores technically necessary data such as IP address, date, time and the page visited. This data serves security and operation and is deleted after a short time. Hosting: Netlify, Inc., San Francisco, USA.

External content and links

Availability calendar. The calendar only shows which days the house is booked. It contains no data about other guests.

Fonts. To display the fonts, your browser loads font files from Google Fonts (Google Ireland Ltd.). In doing so, your IP address is transmitted to Google.

Google Maps, Facebook, Instagram, Booking.com, Airbnb. We only link to these services. Only when you click a link do you go to their sites, where their privacy policies apply.

Cookies and analytics. This website does not use cookies for advertising or analytics.

Sharing and retention

We do not sell your data and only share it when necessary for your stay or required by law. Enquiries without a booking are deleted after twelve months at the latest. Data from stays is kept for as long as the law requires.

Your rights

You can request information about your data at any time and ask for it to be corrected or deleted. Write to us at info@velebit-lodge.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority: in Switzerland the FDPIC, in Croatia AZOP.
